Our download store and new look Naim Label website is finally here!

www.naimlabel.com

You guys will be the first public users, so let me know if you experience any teething problems on info@naimlabel.com.

There are test files available as well as the new William Fitzsimmons single, which is available exclusively from naimlabel.com as a free download!

The majority of downloads come with pdf sleeve artwork, hi-res front cover image, and our WAV album downloads come complete with all the external AMG metadata as an optional download. Our 16/24bit FLAC and 320kbps MP3 downloads come encoded with metadata.

Appreciate your support! Big Grin

Unfortunately, the free William Fitzsimmons download is UK only.

I've found that with a few sites that it is specific to the country the company originates from.

Can't get it myself.....for internet downloads, counry shouldn't make a difference.

Second that. This is true especially for new webstores that wish to get the potential customers to find their services..

Can't seem to find the Fitzsimmons download in hi-res. Is it 44/16 only?

Fitzsimmons is signed to a big big label called Downtown Records in the USA. And Naim is doing its bit to bring his great music to UK ears. We would get in a great deal of trouble if we distributed it free of charge outside of the UK. We aren't being elitist, trust me!

Only in 16bit I am afraid. Don't beleive in upscaling. Just a quick fix and might help people have a fiddle about with FLAC and WAv etc. Most of the new material we do, even on Naim Edge will be native 24bit here on in.

Here is a link to the test files - extracts that you can download for free to test compatibility and sound quality, other than the Fitzsimmons single.

Agreed - nice site, great layout and very easy to use. Unfortunately (for my credit card) after downloading the free track, a few other downloads followed so i'm looking to having a listen tonight.

Well done Simon and the team - best of luck with it.

Whilst i will probably always buy the CD over a download (especially at such a slim price difference) its great to see this up and running. It has also introduced me to Jump Ship, who sound great. So wins all round!

Yes, sites looks great.

Simon is it possible to have sample downloads such as is currently being done with Deutsche Grammaphone?

Personally I find a quick clip of a track (s) an impossiblity to decide whether or not to buy a CD regardless of file type. I currently audition most of my music from Sonos and then decide to buy.

DG allows you to download a 24 bit flac classcal album for a week so you can demo the album prior to making a decision for a nominal fee which is applied to the total cost if you purchase.

Might something along these lines be a consideration?

Gary - its great that DG can afford to do that!

This site structure was a big step for us and I feel that the streamed 30 seconds of EACH and every track should be enough to help give an impression of what the album is about.

And Munch - I don't even know how to do that, so obviously the powers that be have decided it is important enough for you all to see! Who am I to complain Winker

Having downloaded the William Fitsimmon single as a .WAV file I was slightly miffed that iTunes would not allow me to assign the cover art without creating an applelossless version first.

Does anyone know if this likely to be fixed anytime soon?

Jono, are you on mac or pc and what version of iTunes? I'll investigate.

The WAVs can click and play on any media player, but WAVs do not carry metadata embedded in the file - this could be why it won't let you assign the cover art. if you want clean metadata, the FLAC download (converted to .m4a using Max or Switch) could be more for you. It will convert WITH the metadata embedded.

Thank you for the new downloadportal from NAIM.
The usability is ok. The prices also.
I hope the content of music becomes bigger and bigger. Winker

My first download was Antonio Forcione Gettho paradies.

WAV cannot assign Covers.
You must convert the file in a other format (ALAC/AIFF/ AAC/mp3/FLAC )
