He has this knack of making you feel jealous doesn't he..? Try closing a street around here and you'll get some peak capped, Brown Shirt wannabe giving you an earful. Mind the main street near us is the A1... |

From what I know there´s no dealer in Sweden yet selling the Guru´s. The designer is Ingvar Öhman and from what I understand (from Swedish audio foras) not in charge of the marketing. Ingvar Öhman otoh has been designing loudspeakers for more than 30 years and is by many audiophiles in Sweden, a very high regarded loudspaker. Here his designs is called Ino Audio Loudspeakers. No Guru´s here, just Ino´s. But he´s regarded as a guru by many. This thread has made me very interested in his designs. Would never have dreamed of that his designs would be such a match with Naim. I´ve only heard the Pip´s and not with Naim. Makes me wonder how a pair of pr 18 or Pi60 would match. Intriguing. The thing is you can´t buy his loudspeakers in shops. From what I know from a friend, You phone him and meet him, the dem is at his dem room where he also enquieres on how you a are going to match the set up. The INO´s can then either be bought as diy or assembled. Finishes are many and varied. Oh! And no spikes here. But that´s another topic His designs has a strong following, here is a thread with pictures in a Swedish audio fora, albiet in swedish. I will if needed translate. http://www.faktiskt.se/modules.php?name=Forums&file=vie...torder=asc&list=full |

Blimey, make mine look positively ordinary, although I like the black and white Pi60's. The QM60's will be available soon, assume they're a production development of those.

Dunno, not weighed them! Pretty solid though. I went with the Kudos stands as they're very stable which I needed with a busy little 1 year old about.
You can use any stand you like, Guru supplied a top plate to fit under the speaker and on top of your choice of stand, as I have here with the Kudos. They're designed to sit on anything you want apparently, including bookshelves and I believe don't need pricey/solid stands. They have their own, slightly squishy, feet at each corner to sit on, the plate has little recesses for these. |

I might be wrong here, but I think your Guru´s is developed from a studio monitor range he also designs and constructs. I can´t find any of pictures of the QM 60´s. The Pi 60´s though if bought assembled, ranges from 30000-42000 sek depending on finish wich would be aprox. 2000-2800 GBP. A good friend of mine is going to purchase the Pip´s to partner with his Naims. He told me, when he had the dem, he first thoght when he entered the room that Öhman was using pi 60´s but it was the Pip´s. Those small bookshelf speakers reaches well down to 30 Hz +/- 3 db. The Pip´s were excellent, he thought. |
