What is better in Flatcap XS ?
What is the big difference to Flatcap2 ?

Question two: Why not a Hicap XS ?

I can't comment on the difference between the two, besides what Mr. Stephenson mentionned in his topic about the new XS range, as I haven't seen internal pics of the Flatcap XS for now.

Concerning your second question, Hicap is part of the Reference range, not from the XS or the previous X series in the current products line-up.

Bye.

Begs a question though........ What will they call the the reference range HiCap when it's updated? HiCap3 perhaps? 302, 382, 352 for pre-amps?

Can hardly wait...... Big Grin

Enjoy your music,

Engelbert

Why not making all Naim equipment in brushed alu finish?

Because now, all real superior Naim gears have a brushed alu finish. Big Grin

No, the real reason is that Adam is not too fast on the metal buffer, so the i series will remain with the standard black finish.

Bye.

I can't tell the brush aluminum difference.

Is my late model 202/200 brushed alu? Should I buy a brush?

Hi JYOW,

I think a HiCap would improve the sound of your 202/200 more so than a brush.

But if you really want a brush, I'll look in my cupboard for you.

Simply because it's much more expensive compared to the magnesium/zinc alloy casting still used on the i series.

Been and done, my 202/200 is Hicaped, NAPSCed, Hi-Lined and Powerlined.

But seriously, is the finish on my 202/200 brushed aluminum?

Today I cleaned my Naim gears and finally noticed the differences between brushed aluminum and non.

I actually prefer the non brushed aluminum finish. The brushed finish on the 202/200 is more prone to scratching and prints.

But either way these black boxes are mesmerizing to us drones, we are programmed to get more black and green boxes Smile Green is my favotre color, I wonder if that was a factor I fell into this hobby.

BTW, I tried lemon oil (for polishing of my speakers) on the naim metal surfaces and they worked quite well. As long as I don't go over the top and use a minute amount. Otherwise they look like shined shoes.

Doesn't work on light components like the Headline though. The oil got on its rubber feet and it now wants to go skating every time I plug and unplug the headphone from it.
