After suffering one set of sheer unadulterated shrieking from Sharapova in the Women's singles I turned over to one of the men's matches as I was beginning to fear for my hearing. I'm fed with this racket(pun intended)which seems nothing more than gamesmanship. I'm glad the shrieking Sharapova got her just desserts. The Wimbledon crowd couldn't wait to get rid of her as well.

This sister has finally given up watching women's tennis for this very reason.Very sad!
Confused

It is annoying isn't it . Hopefully the rules officials will do something about it .
It's all Nick Bollettieri's fault , all of the grunter's come from his stable .

If that's taken before her kick it's S&M , if it's after it's A&E .

Shirley, my dear, would be better!

In a non-gay sort of voice, of course, for the politcally correct! Though I must state that some of my best friends are [or were until a few minutes ago] a bit gay!

No doubt some people will never invite me to their house[es] again after this!

ATB from George

PS: I won't tell you what I got called today! But menace did not come into it!

I also remember when the players had personalities! Becker, MacEnroe, Connors, Pat Cash, OK there was Edberg, but all the men are Edberg clones now.

I could never bring myself to support Henman, and find this sulky Scot little better.

Although far worse for the screeching I find women's tennis to at least have more personalities and often more entertaining games. That said, when they start shreeking, I turn it off.

...I have to rise to the bait....why on earth do you think he is sulky?

Especially in light of the fact that you are complaining that the Connor's, McEnroe's and Becker's of this world are no longer playing? There were few bigger sulks than those guys....but they were all winners I seem to recall...

Here we have a British player, No 3 in the rankings, who at 21 has won more tournaments that Henman won in his entire career, who has a great all around game, a great tactical brain.....I really don't get the lack of recognition.

Maybe it's because we all expect underachievement and don't know how to handle successful sportsman?

Cheers

Jim
