Anyone else find that they are unable to watch a women's match with the sound on? The shrieks moans and grunts drive me crazy. They should be fined on an escalating scale for every such utterance. Never mind that it is "gamesmanship" at best and blatant cheating at worst: the complete alienation of spectators should be enough to see their prize-money eliminated.

 ) Why don't the men shriek & shout ?? Only a question as its all a bit beyond me YES I AGREE its about time the tennis rules got changed to get this fixed, it has to be off-putting for the other player, the shriek or non-shriek can be used to disguise a shot. And if nothing else us ticket buying public might watch more tennis. Problem is if you read various blogs on this, no one seems to want to stop it. Also No great women players these days, they are all as consistent as yoyo's Women should be made to do 5 sets to get the same money as men - or prize money per set Me, I watch more cricket & rugby Gone off tennis, too many overexcited face painted females having orgasms over the latest plucky brit. (sorry scot) |

There is only one place I want to hear shrieking females, but I usually turn the PC sound off as well!
Yes why did they agree to paying the same for less in female tennis, equal pay for equal work, they have been shouting for this long and loud. |

Oh, I do most definitely watch with the sound off. Listening to music instead of the grunts and inane commentary makes the tennis almost watchable.

I don't think so. I've certainly found a lot of what many feminists to say quite challenging and a certain amount of what some feminists say is clearly wrong, but it would be completely ridiculous to deny that women have been disadvantaged through most of human history and that feminism - even in it's most extreme manifestations has been an essential corrective response to this. And I think anyone implying that the right to equal pay is something 'they' went on about until 'we' let them have it should be ashamed to have lived on the planet so long and have learnt so little. |

Hi David, how can any non-monster disagree? However, i believe the post referred to equal 'pay' for less 'work'. Three sets maximum, as opposed to five. (the brackets are there to separate the notion of pay and work from sport.) And to establish my credentials, i prefer the players with the best legs and smallest skirts. Hate anyone to think otherwise |
