Hi Maria

I've already had a week's 'holiday' very kindly booked for me by my wife, during which I spent a few days painting the living room followed by an excursion into the dining room for much of the same.

Later on in the year I have a week booked with family and friends at a cottage in France close to the Pyrenees.

Dimakya Island in the Philippines. White sand like talcum powder, palm trees, turquoise sea, coral, scuba diving and lounging around in a hammock with SWMBO. Don't know when but ASAP.

hi.
Turkey is very beatiful and the people so kind.
But watch for the people who want to sell you, only if you look, you are already a customer.

go get a deal with a cabdriver. we did that and we spend 25 euro for a hole day. he brought use too the beatiful places. ask for to see beatiful things of turkey, not the tourist places. it was a great day.

have a nice stay

Maria

Hi Maria,

Recently I went skiing for the first time ever in Soll in Austria - had a fabulous time and am now completely hooked!

Next week I'll be in the beautiful country of Italy and taking a tour of the Ferrari factory and also the Maserati factory and a few private car collections - I can't wait!! Big Grin

But tomorrow and Friday... I have to go to work... Roll Eyes

Best regards,

Rich

Have you been to Egypt? Every one in the country is out get some of your money it seems. The more trivial the service the more they want. Can be very wearing.Still enjoyed the visit though.
Anyone want a genuine hand made carpet/perfume/papyrus or cotton shirt?

I'm taking the kids camping at Easter. I'm only going 24 Miles to Oxford so I can nip back home if things get shitty.

We stay at home for Easter.
We have been to St Marteen last January, French Riviera (Toulon) in June, nothing exotic this year (China last year).

I'm home from this rust bucket on Wednesday, weather permitting, for what should be my six weeks off, but I'm working a week for a colleague who wanted seven off...... Eek
I'm off to Holland on Friday, gorgeous other half will already be there for her 1st quarter budget meeting, then we've a week together....
Four days in Holland staying with friends, two days in Antwerp for a look-see.....anybody been..???
Then overnight in Amsterdam before coming back to yet more decorating probably.....but we're almost finished!!!

Cheers,
Ali

It's OK some olde worlde buildings seems reasonably untouched in the old town. River views spoilt by the dockside archtechture.Plenty of roadside resturants near the railway station. There are several diamond houses and a diamond museum also near the station.

Just done Rome for 3 nights - off to pefokori on mainland Greece in June - 14 nights this time after enjoying 7 nights there last year. My wife lloves Greece, and the greeks are sooo friendly if you treat them with respect and not like the hired help...

Thanks Howard,
I chose Antwerp over Brussels mainly because it looked more quaint/not quite as busy as Brussels... We've been through Zeebrugge at the other end of the Superfast Ferry from Rosyth, and stopped in Brugge itself for a cash machine. Brugge looked lovely and we may have a day trip out there if Antwerp isn't up to much.....

Cheers,
Ali

Roy

A few years back we did the Royal Carribean cruise from Vancouver to the Hubbard Glacier then back via Skagway, Haines. Junneau, Ketchikan and the Misty Fjord.

Last year we took the Queen of the North from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, so this year we were planning to do the same and then travel north calling into Haida/Salmon Glacier and other places before returning along the Alaskan Highway to Tete Jaunne for the Mt Robson Grand Cache trek.

We heard now that the BC ferry hit a rock at about 00:45 on 23rd March 3 hour south of Prince Rupert, near Gil Island and sank. So now I am looking at the Marine Highway instead.

Thanks

Don
