No logo light on Armageddon

The light on all your other gear works on DC

There is no DC in an Armageddon, only AC for your TT motor, hence no light!

I think its a shame too.

I asked about this when I bought mine... Flickin' Nora! 8 years ago! They said, very honestly, it just sounded better without the lit logo. Simple.

Boy that was a quick response. Thanks. I am quite ignorant of electronics, I admit that, but you know, I plug the geddon into the same current all the other kit is plugged into so why not have a lead off to the logo. This stuff costs enough that you would think Naim would be invested in doing the job properly.

My view is that Naim have done the job properly, in their research they found the light put noise into the Armaggeddon and degraded the sound. Therefore on the olive series they put a greener paint instead.

I call it attention to detail, Linn had a light on the Lingo.

I recently had a call from a customer who claimed the logo on her 5 year Armageddon had gone out - difficult to deal with tactfully.

What a company - I should have known there would be a very good reason. Having said that, it looks a little strange to have all the other kit lit up and that one little box doesn't have a light because it will degrade the sound. It's the stuff for children's fables. You know: Once upon a time there was a company that made beautiful music equipment to play beautiful music. Every thing about the company was beautiful, all their equipment boxes were especially beautiful, except for one little box that was not as beautiful as all the others. People made comments that amongst all the glory of the other boxes this one was the dimmest and least attractive. That poor little box was so sad because it was not allowed to shine like all the others. He was afraid nobody loved him. Then one day that poor little box realized that maybe he didn't shine like all the other boxes, but no other box made as beautiful music as he.
He had learned that what was on the inside was more important than what could be seen from the outside. From that day forth he took his rightful place amongst all the other boxes and was quite happy to look different from the outside because he knew that he was very good indeed on the inside. And you see children, we are just like that poor little box as long as we are ... on the inside it doesn't matter how we look on the outside.

You have to admit, it makes a great story.

That's nothing.

My Armageddon's logo used to change colour from red to green depending on whether it was playing at 33 rpm or 45 rpm.

Now it seems to be stuck at 33 !

If you were carefully to apply some fluorescent black and green paint on the A'geddon's logo and borrowed one of Adam's head torches, maybe the logo would light up whenever you turn to look at it.
