Frank Abela

Absolutely heart broken.

I was lucky enough to meet Frank in my audio wilderness days when I walked into the shop where he worked. He introduced me to the ‘Naim sound’. I can’t recall the system we were listening to suffice to say I ended buying a 552,300,NDAC etc..wow wht a great salesman!!!!...He even charmed my wife with a very relaxed unplanned dem. A true gentleman and always put himself out and always made us feel very welcome.

I remember my very first posting on this fine forum about my new system....Frank said...’ I merely introduced the 'balanced homogenous system' idea to you and you ... well ... rather enjoyed it! Only Frank could articulate in this way.

We are poorer at the very sad news of this loss. We are lucky to be able to refer back to Franks helpful posts. He has helped so many people past, present and many in the future. I will miss you Frank. My thoughts to you your family and extended family right here.....US!!!!!!!!!

Heard the news yesterday on my way home from work. Very saddened.

I’ll miss our chats particularly over the last year and helpful guidance. Like others mentioned

here, really helped me understand and take a deeper leap into the world of Naim.

R.I.P Frank

Condolences to your family.

So sorry to hear this although I never met Frank in person I thought of him as one of the good guys.We will all miss your wise comments.I would have loved to have visited him at his new venture in Attard round the corner from us in Mosta. So sad.

I have been here on and off last 15 years..mostly off. His feedback was very valuable. The truth is that I just bought my current amp really considering one of his 10 years old inputs... I got it a few days ago still without knowing that he is gone. RIP Frank from someone you never met but. Some part of you is with this signing amp in my room... RIP.

My best wishes to Frank and his beloved wife. We have met several times ( once at my house at a gathering) and spoken many a times on the phone. If you have to leave this Forum Frank, I can only say that our conversations, which always ended up with us both having a  right old giggle, shall be sadly missed. As JN said your knowledge and enthusiasm for music and HIFI was always inspiring and what is going on for you is simply not fair. You are a lovely person full stop,

All my best wishes for you

Peter Rantzau

I met Frank a number of times in Reading and he was a most knowledgable, helpful and enthusiastic person. He was the same on the forum.  His family can be very proud of him and he will be sadly missed in both places. Farewell Frank and condolences to your loved ones.

So nice to see you back on here, Peter, albeit in tragic circumstances. Hope we might see more of you.

Mike

I have never met Frank, but from all the tributes and kind words said above he must be a very knowledgable and like person. Its always the saddest thing to hear the passing of someone so RIP Frank and condolences to his beloved family and friends

Previous post deleted, very sad news to hear of Frank passing.

It is odd that whilst you do not meet many of the folk on these forums, you feel like you know them through reading their posts over the years, and I recall reading many of Franks during my time as a Naim member.  Sad times, I wish his family the best in this difficult period.

Go easy up there Frank.
