Nigel: This is a top to a, you know, what we use on stage, but it's
a very...very special Hugo because if you can see...
Marty: Yeah...
Nigel: ...the number has gone up to Two. Look...right across the board.
Marty: Ahh...oh, I see....
Nigel: Two ...Two ...Two ....
Marty: ...and most Hugos go up to One....
Nigel: Exactly.
Marty: Does that mean it's...louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not One. You see,
most...most blokes, you know, will be playing at one. You're on one
here...all the way up...all the way up....
Marty: Yeah....
Nigel: ...all the way up. You're on one on your Hugo...where can you go
        from there? Where?
Marty: I don't know....
Nigel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is if we need that extra...push over
the cliff...you know what we do?
Marty: Put it up to two.
Nigel: Two. Exactly. One louder.
Marty: Why don't you just make one louder and make the One be the top...
number...and make that a little louder?
Nigel: ...these go to Two.

They have not much in common, the Hugo 2 has different FPGA, superior noise shaper, and a superior Pulse Array DAC (10 elements compared to 4 of the original Hugo 1)

I think it's only because of the Brand they named it Hugo 2, it is another beast altogether.

It is a small taste of the Dave at a fraction of the cost.

But as Rob Watts himself says "Hugo 2 ain't no Dave"

I'm pretty sure someone will make fun of the above soon enough, especially now Mr Meredith is back, but when it comes to digital, more complexity is better music.

Certainly compared to the cheap 1 bit DACs ....
