WOW!

This means I could have a ND5 XS 2 in time for my birthday, taptastic!

If you mean 2019, yes. This is a staggered launch with ND555 available first, ND5 XS2, is the last to be launched.

Ah, I did not know that, thanks for the heads up Gazza!

Just in case anyone is still interisted I have been given a shipping date of the 18th of July for my ND555.

2018?

The email said “this year”. We’d already made that joke. Can’t comment on the NDX2 or ND5xs2. Does anyone have an order placed?

I have ordered a NDX2.

the beresford / cambridge is a 700 GBP combo.  If it sounds better than the cdx2 and ndx2,  7 times more expensive, this combo is the best bargain in the entire audio history !   something must  be wrong...  perhaps is time to see an ENT specialist ?

Try them and find out for yourself. A number of friends of mine came over and we compared the different sources, and we all came to the same conclusion.

Maybe we should all seek ENT specialist help, or maybe, just maybe we are accurate.

Good point. Nobody can listen with someone else's ears and anyone who buys equipment purely based on brand name/image, the recommendation of a stranger, or peer pressure is a fool. Sometimes a lucky one, but no less of one. Ears first and each to our own.

I used to think that but then my system wasn’t setup very well. It is now and I’m sure if I compared again I’d notice the difference. No disrespect intended - it took me a long time.

I haven't heard a Hugo and NDS back to back, but I have heard a Hugo on a couple of occasions. I thought it was awful. But so what? The dealer will sell me something else and the next customer through the door who loves how the Hugo sounds will buy one. Everyone's a winner.

And (some) people prefer a Chord Hugo to an NDS. So err yeah, why not.

Not sure I’ve come across that any description of how Hugo with any source compares with NDS  in terms of sound - though of course preference need have nothing to do with that.

If you look back I did review of exactly this a couple years back
