Even CNN reported a semi-positive report today on Trump's Saudi Speech today.

....the tone of which was totally at odds with his election stance on the muslim faith. So will he now be backpeddling on all the other rehetoric he spouted to get himself elected? What's become of "The Wall"? I suppose we should be grateful that the reality of running a country is apparently beginning to alter his behaviour. Or perhaps I"m being too optimistic.

I do find it appalling that some of you seem prepared to accept that the Trump administration may prove to be corrupt.

Tonym, I think CNN and MSNBC would hire you on the spot as you seem to have the same high journalistic standards they look for.  Truth and objectivism are no where to be found in your statement.

The problem is that you and others have a dislike for Trump and what he stands for and so you go to any length (including misrepresenting the truth) because you so want to believe anything that remotely confirms your views.

How about begin a pattern of searching for and understanding the truth?  Your statement in bold above is so deceptive and misrepresentative of what Trump said but of course the choir singing here would not spot this as a deliberate attempt to simply smear a person unjustly.

Trump has never said what you imply here.  In fact, he has said to the effect (my wording to paraphrase) that 100% of radical islamic terrorists are muslim.  Out of a huge world populations of muslims a very small percentage of them have become radicalized.  This is where the problem resides.  He has said that this is a problem for everyone's safety (obviously) and we need to figure out how to determine which ones of this group intend harm to us against those (the majority) that are peaceful and decent people.  This is a difficult task and finally though he is the first person in power to actually state the obvious.  This problem has been allowed to be fester and grow under Obama and now someone is finally willing to stand up and do the right thing.  Even a reasonable person like you should not be so blind as to not see this?  Pretending it doesn't exist is not a solution.

The right thing is to actually force this point that it is actually all muslims around the world that need to stand up and be counted and to demonstrate which side they will stand on.  Why?  Because it is this group that are either part of this extended family and have firsthand knowledge as to what is being taught in the mosques and the communities.  How many "good" muslims have awareness of who has been radicalized and say nothing to protect their own family or themselves from losing their own lives if they speak up?

Secondly, when any number of people from these countries apply to come in to your country how do you vet anyone when the country they come from is in civil chaos?  You have no way to know that these people are who they say the are?

As demonstrated on this foreign trip, Trump has respect for any group, including the muslim faith and it has never been different (pre-election or now).  Trump only stated a very logical and true position in that until we figure out how better to vet this problem shouldn't we slow down first and assess what we are doing in this process?

Yes, a perfect opening for the politically (unthinking) correct among us (including your blatantly crass and misguided summary) to jump up and down and cry foul.  Hardly the case though.  With the blind liberal governments of the EU, UK and even Canada and your open borders ideology you have and will continue to find out how many innocent people will die as a result.   These victims and their families sadly do not have a voice in any of this as the majority pretend to point their finger at someone else.

Do you deny there are people on this earth who have a common ideology and goal of slicing your head off and killing your family for simply being a westerner (an infidel).  What is your solution to protect us against this, King Tony?  Maybe when your family is directly affected by this you might finally wake up?  Do you not care about others that have been affected by this?

One thing is for sure.  Trump is right in going to the muslim world and stating that the USA cannot solve this on their own and that they need the help and influence of ALL the good and decent muslims around the world to combat this problem.  In my view he is seeing the problem for what it is.  A far cry from how every other world leader has done so far.

Being a smart person yourself you should be able to see and understand this.  Please do not just throw a blanket over this and imply that someone is against the muslim faith by stating that their is an obvious problem among a small percentage of the muslim world.  There is no way to tackle this problem without asking the majority of muslims to take a stand on this leaving an open door for the liberals among us to resort to their identity politics.

Sorry banzai, this proves nothing other than that this is the second time the collective left leaning media could not manufacture a twisted version to suit their own purposes and ideology.  The first being the bombing of Syria (refer to the findings of a Harvard study summarized early).

These are not my findings or words so you will have to debate with them over your subjective viewpoints.

All I can think of when I read the logical/ethical/factual gymnastics of Trump supporters all I can think of is the re-invigoration of the phrase "drinking the Kool-Aid."

It's the hypocrisy that stings the most - the Obama's, being black and liberal (ok, center) could do no right in the eye's of the right, whether it be policy or personal, and liberals accused of being 'snowflakes' whenever they complained about the unfairness of it. Now look who the 'snowflakes' are?

Trump has no one's best interest in mind except for himself (and he even seems to be 'effing that up with his big mouth). One example: the biggest crisis facing America isn't ISIS but the opioid/prescription drug menace. He promised to do something about it for his "forgotten people." I don't think having their health care stripped from them and the appointment of a good ol' war on drugs AG is going to help by any means. Pot needs to be at the very least decriminalized or rescheduled if not fully legalized - but of course that would mean their private prison stocks would go down if you can't lock people up for a joint.

It's all about cruelty at somebody else's expense in the name of security and lining their own pockets - a play ripped right out of the National Socialist playbook. Drink the Kool-Aid if it makes you feel better, but realize that the flavor being served to the majority of the population (remember, he won without the majority of the country's support) the taste of bitter almond is strongly recognizable. Sorry, but the white male sugar coating of testorone just doesn't hide the taste of cynaide for those of us willing to look outside the FOX compound. Drink away.

Not appointing such patently clueless people to his Cabinet might have gone a long way to appeasing the press and left (to a degree). But saying such truly dumb ignorant crap as this demands to be covered and the sayer flayed. Perhaps he thought protesters would merely get a Twitter lashing from the King vs real lashings from his henchman. But lots of brass and glass and bling in SA - I'm sure Trump was having the time of his life. He couldn't grab any pussy of course, but he also didn't have to deal with any uppity women. Lets see how the state visit to Germany goes...

And I'm pretty sure that not having put the press in cages at his rallies and encouraging the crowd to hurl obscenities at them might have won him at least a few charm points from the mainstream fake news media.

My, what a rant! Guess I scored a hit. Typical pro-Trump reaction; attack the person rather than their views. You know nothing about me, nor my personal situation, yet choose to attack me personally on the basis of my  post and choose to stoop to cheap sarcasm. The fanatics of this world are nothing to do with any religion, and exist on all sides. And If you believe Trump gives a damn about anything than Trump, you're even more misguided than I thought. (Hint - it pays to be concise).

Do you deny there are people on this earth who have a common ideology and goal of slicing your head off and killing your family for simply being...

black, gay, Muslim,  Jewish, liberal, Hispanic, transgender, Asian, and so on.

As FDR said, we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Or rednecks with guns ramped up on a steady diet of junk food, crystal meth, and FOX news. ISIS is a distraction - we do plenty fine on the wholesale slaughter of each other without them.
