What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

Now playing.......

Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Haden - Alone Together

Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Haden - Alone Together

Lee Konitz (saxophone), Brad Mehldau (piano), and Charlie Haden (bass)

With a mention from CHRISTOPHER_M who was working off a recommendation from Max, I thought I would take this album out for spin. I love Charlie Haden and Lee Konitz, so I thought this would be a no-brainer..... Through the first track and enjoying it.

Sorry I get hung up on a single song, and its different recordings, for days...in comes 3 Imaginary Boys.

Anyhoo the Spotify HQ version is worth a listen, far exceeds YouTube recording in SQ.

Truly an amazing track in studio, lived, youtube...period.

It’s good to see some Cure being played. I love their early stuff, though I went off them after Pornography. I wrote to Robert once, in 1980, to see if they would come to play where I was living on Anglesey, and he wrote a really nice letter back inviting me to meet them at a gig in Brighton. I couldn’t make it unfortunately, but it was a kind offer.

Mozart - Clarinet Quintet & Oboe Quartet - vinyl

These sound amazingly good. Hard to beat the quality of Deutsche Grammophon. Gradually getting back into music after my robotic prostatectomy surgery 23 days ago.

Really glad I bought the 4m SL speaker cable as the demo 5m does not sound as good. Probably should have gone for 3.5m which Naim say is the Optimum length and would just have reached. Why pay more for reduced SQ.
