I use Flickr to host my photos for posting on the Forum. I have tried several times today to access my Flickr account, but the site suggests there is a problem. Is this just me, or do others have this problem ?

With only 88 days to go before the biggest collective decision that most of us here in the UK will ever experience....... what will happen !! My prediction is : TM with press her current deal + "assurance" about the "NI Backstop" and put it to a Parliamentary vote Parliament will reject this deal/assurance, then Parliament will reject leaving without a deal Then Either :- A Motion of No-Confidence will be approved and a General Election will follow or A Motion to Withdraw Article 50 will be...

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos. Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined. Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad: I know...

A Fistful of Brain Teasers For those who are either non-British, or under the age of 65………. The UK used to have a brilliant system of currency referred to as “Pounds, Shillings and Pence”. Simplified to £ ? s ? d. No! Don’t ask me why the “Pence” symbol is a “d”, just learn it and remember it ! A £ comprised 20 Shillings and a Shilling comprised 12 Pence. Thus a £ comprised 240 Pence. I reckon that both Microsoft and Apple would have difficulty with these numbers in their spreadsheets, more...

Now the World Cup's over, it's time to turn our attention to the domestic leagues in the UK, Europe, South America and elsewhere... So here's a thread for all matters pertaining to the 2018/19 season - whether you follow one of the giants like Barca, Real, Juve, Man City or Corinthians; or a non-league side. All are welcome - and let's hear from followers of smaller clubs, like Harrogate Railway, Sutton United or Tottenham Hotspur.

And down she goes. 20% loss in 4 days. Now back to October 2017 levels. For the sake of the environment, I hope this continues.

Didn't know where to post this so Richard, feel free to move as you see fit. I don't know how to respond or refer to a previous post on a topic like many users do where they are responding to a previous post and show it with quotes and usually in blue at least on my Mac. How do you do that? Thanks

At about half 8 this morning I decided I had time to play an album before going out to meet a friend, so I took the lid off the Roksan. I then reached for a book on the bookshelves beside the turntable, knocked another book which managed to fall and land on the Artemiz arm. It seems to moved the arm body off the pivot. I’ve had another look while at home briefly this afternoon, and can’t see a way to fix it. I’ll call Roksan tomorrow to get acontact details of a repair agent in the not too...

Just read that Alex Salmond has won his case against the Scottish Government, of course he's not out of the woods yet as the Police enquiry is still ongoing. Judge Lord Pentland subsequently ruled that the government's actions had been "unlawful in respect that they were procedurally unfair" and had been "tainted with apparent bias". I am no supporter of Mr.Salmond but I found the Scottish Government's response from its Permanent Secretary, a Ms.Evans, to be disappointing: "...... apologise...

As per the title and for those of you retired do you miss it? I will start by saying I am currrenty still working and will be for many years yet unless I win the big one. I have my own Plumbing and Heating company but specialise in Heating. It’s just me now but had two other engineers but got fed up with the agro and decided to go back on my own. Cheers

Caveat: this is not a post against well-trained dog owners. I have no axe to grind with dog owners per se, but with a certain number who are incapable of disposing of dog poo in both an environmentally friendly and socially acceptable way. I have been privileged to enjoy an extended Xmas break and have taken the opportunity to go for a good walk every day. But wherever I roam the paths, byways, hedgerows, rivers and ditches, even railway crossings, are blighted by bags full of dog poo. The...

Most people spend the most depressing time of the year giving up the things they love. I like to start the year with some fresh new jeans. Years ago I read that the best way to wear them was to get a few and only wear one of them a day or so before neatly hanging them up for another. This way you can get them to look great over some time and not even have to wash them - as washing kills that fresh fluffy nap and turns them into a thin crispy version of what they were ! For years I wore...

My brother recently retired and has been spending some of his money. Look what he got made for his back garden! He paid a local sculptor to attack a dead tree, carve it, and paint it. I've asked him if he's trying to become a tourist attraction and he said "no". I think it's from "How to Train Your Dragon" and has a rider on its back.

Dropped the Leica D-Lux 4 a few days ago. It still takes pictures, but the screen is disengaged so I have no idea what I am pointing the camera towards. Time for a replacement ! My initial thought was a Leica Typ 109 but they seem to be on the way out and my recollection is they were a bit larger than the D-Lux 4. I really would like whatever I get, to be easily carried in a pocket. The D-Lux 4 was perfect. I notice that Sony do a range of compact cameras eg Cyber-Shot RX100 IV. But on...

I know its bit early but hey there is cricket going on in the southern hemisphere. I caught a bit of SA on telly last night and it was great to see Dale Steyn back in action and taking wickets. And India are piling on the first innings runs against the Aussies in the forth test and already have a 2-1 lead. The hosts single win took place at the new Perth stadium which looks fantastic. There is a lot of talk coming out of the Aussie camp about looking forward to the return of Warner and Smith...

Obviously I will go first. Not sure if many will want to participate in this one and can understand if you don’t but I thought it may be a nice idea to put a face to the name/names we all know. Happy new year all!
