For my second system I've bought a pair of Linn DUI streamer and a pair of Kleptos their new mini monitors. Tog

Tog, the DUI streamer really only comes alive when you add the spanK power supply.

OK this is getting silly. Apologies for having a dig at Linn, but I did endure a pair of their Index speakers for 2 years...

To get back to the subject of this thread, hands up those who would really like to see a Naim streamer with preamp. Is there such a hole that needs to be filled in the digital lineup ? Do we really need a SuperUniti without the power amp module ?

Yes, when Focal will include Naim power amp(s) in their speakers.

(This is really a joke, do not start rumors with that )

Yes, I would really like a Naim Pre+Streamer.

It doesn't even need a new product - just add digital volume control to the NDX and/or ND5XS.

For now, I will keep using my Qute with its internal power amp switched off.

Now what are you boys doing looking at Linn's website eh?

David:  The new DSM's with HDMI will only take audio that has been turned into PCM by source.

Of course that source could be an Apple TV for instance and then the DSM could pass video at a high

resolution enabling someone to use as an all around entertainment centerpiece if one only needs (or wants) two channel playback in their A/V system.  More important is the possibility of streaming video and audio from a computer source on a network and having the video able to be played through the DSM through...the HDMI output.

The exclusion of HDMI in the Majik is odd, I agree.

PS. I loved TDK tapes and used them religiously back in the day....looks like a work in progress to me.
