ND5 XS Review in Hi-Fi Choice

For what its worth, there is an interesting review of the Naim ND5 XS in the Awards 2011 issue of Hi-Fi Choice magazine (Issue No. 352).

However, it seems the lower right (multi-coloured wires, under black heatsink) connector is 2 pins wider on the new upgrade board. Looking at James' photo above, the "2 extra pins" are just ignored.

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct orientation?

the ndx will have more secondary power supplies than the 5 .for most the 5x will be used dig out to the dac .if so for most the 5 is far better than the expensive unit. cirut boards are easily changed anyway in modern production runs

Richard Sellicks helped me out on "Has anyone had their NDX upgraded"-thread already, so I'm all set here (the connection on my photo is the way to go).

Anyway, even wireless 24/192 streaming works like a charm now, hooray!

The ND5XS is due to be reviewed in the March edition of HFN. Should be an interesting read and rather more objective than the Choice review...
