Hello,

Have downloaded the n-stream, but the iPad doesn´t find my WD MyBook Live - NAS. Is there anyone out there who knows how to deal with this?

Sincerely,

Thomas

Communication is between NAS and your streaming device, and N-Stream (iPad) and your streaming device. N-Stream does not make a connection to your NAS directly, but only via your streamer.

For example, I have a UnitiQute. N-Stream connects to the Qute, and the Qute connects to the NAS to get playlists, etc. which it in turn communicates back to N-Stream.

Bottom line is that you setup N-Stream to connect to your streaming device, not your NAS. Once connected to your streamer, if you can't see what is on the NAS, then it's a problem between the NAS and your streamer.

As RaceTripper says ... In setup nStream will find your streamer, if it doesn't check the network settings on the streamer. If it can find the streamer but not the NAS you should get a "no servers"message on the Naim streamer indicating that your NAS isn't connected properly via your router. Tog

Or you have not activated the media server software on your WD.

Dear Tripper,
The wifi is so poor in my appartment, why I have had to use à cable connection to my NaimUniti. Any suggestions?

I also use an wired ethernet connection to my UnitiQute. In fact, it is better than streaming over WiFi. However, your Wifi needs to work well enough for your iPad/iPhone to see your network.

Never mind your NAS for a moment...can your N-Stream app see your UnitiQute. That is the connection you need to make. Whatever device (iPhone/iPad) you have N-Stream on has to be on your local network (WiFi).
