UNITY Upgrade with DAC

Hi
Did anyone Upgrade UNITY adding a DAC ? Was suggested by my dealer as alternative to preamp 202 or 252 in between my UNITY and NAP 200. Would be glad to receive your thoughs and recommandations.
I am driving D18 with my system.
