fair is fair so.............
When I had a Buffalo NAS and was using wireless, I preferred both Plug Player and e-lyric ( ps audio) interface, speed and features.
I have since changed to a QNAP NAS with Twonky and a wired connection.
No matter what I try I cannot get either of the above apps to see the twonky server (and I've extensively googled and tried all the recommendations found).
n-stream shows the twonky server no problem and now that I'm not pointing at my itunes library but just to the lossless FLAC the general speed is much quicker as are searches.
This is probably a situation that is unique to my set-up but it has to be said that the naim app is the only one that works and for that some acknowledgement is due and duly given.

Couldn't agree more - nStream is almost snappy with Vortexbox and leaves Plugplayer et al in the dust.
However, the world moves ever onwards.

Hi John B
Sounds like you have everything running really well. I am hopefully about to get my first Naim system together and streaming will be essential. My Lacie NAS runs Twonky, but after messing around with a few other apps it seems that all music files on the NAS become part of the library - which is annoying as my wife has her music on there too and I don't want to hear this on my new system !
So just wondering how yoursetup works? Can you map n-stream to a specific folder on your NAS? Or is it everything that Twonky throws at it?
Cheers.

It's twonky rather than n-stream which controls what music you see.
there is an option (can't recall what version of twonky I'm on ) to select the folder to "share".
I did have mine set to "music" which contains my itunes folder as well as one called flac and one called wav. I've simply chosen the flac subfolder as the one to be shared and all the others are taken out of the loop.
see if this works, I can be more specific when I'm home and have it all in front of me.

+1. N-Stream with my ancient Buffalo NAS, all hard-wired, refreshes screens very quickly.
Which is a good thing, because the navigation model continues to require me to go through a lot of screens to get to where I want to go!

Aye, at least it's fast (with Asset).
