Explain Your Avatar
Posted by: pcstockton on 02 November 2011
I am constantly curious about some people's avatars. What/who is it and what is the meaning?
I'll start.
This is the Par 3 17th at Pacific Dunes at Bandon Dunes on the coast in Oregon. THE #1 public course in the US (been battling with Pebble Beach), and #10 in the world. This world ranking includes all courses public and private (even the ultra exclusive places none of us will ever even see.
The 17th at Pacific is a "Redan" modeled after CB MacDonald's famous hole at National Golf Links. You better be able to hit a high, soft fade. The bunkers on the left and front are DEEEEEP. Long and right is GONE.
Although this is not one of the ocean side holes, it is one of my favorites. It is a great penultimate hole.

Thank you.
He is very good value.
Malinois - a sort-of Belgian Shepherd / German Shepherd cross. Size of the former, colouring of the latter. A lovely breed.

I think you may have overdone the weight loss regime.

Max, thanks for asking. He's 5 now and still drawing but reading and writing have lessened his focus somewhat.

Ah Hood ... I thought it was 'Brains' from Thunderbirds. I'm too young to remember it that well

Mine is Oggy, from “Oggy and The cockroackes”. Oggy would be the happiest of cats if three cockroaches hadn't decided to settle inside his comfortable home: Joey, Dee Dee and Marky (named after members of the Ramones). The trio seems to enjoy generally making Oggy's life miserable…

My avatar is....supposed to be uhh, me.
It's been my signature for many years now.
Don't know why or how it started, but sometimes when I had to leave a memo at work I 'signed' it with this little drawing.
cheers,

Mine is Tintin because, er, I am a massive Tintin fan. If I was ever to go on Mastermind (which I never will) I would do The Beatles, '70s era Genesis or Tintin. Unfortunately, the icon has gone from cult to ubiquitous since the film's marketing machine got going.

Easy. It's Christina Hendricks, playing the divine Joan in Mad Men. She is just beautiful.

Keith,
Tintin ('Kuifje' over here) will remain an icon. I still treasure my print copies of Tintin in the Soviet Union and first edition of Tintin in Africa, hilariously politically incorrect.
