I think this is necessary for them to do so to be compatible with the growing world and technology. People around the world nowadays love to use new technologies and experience them. So this is a good step and decision taken by the Companies.

Not when 60% of recorded music sold in the USA alone is still on physical formats, the vast majority of that being CD.

CD isn't dead, it just smells funny - beside without them how would you buy music from Woolworths to take home and transfer to cassette for playing in the car.
