iTunes question

Posted by: Jeff Anderson on 11 November 2011

Albums loaded into iTunes often end up with the tracks in alphabetical order (why would you ever want them that way?) , rather than track order.

I assume I am doing something wrong but am not seeing what to change so the sequence is in track order.

Exasperating.

thanks for any help.

Jeff

In the Preferences - Advanced there is a "Keep iTunes media folder organised" check to see if it is checked/ticked.

This may be the solution, my iTunes keeps 99% of albums in track order, every now and then it has funny 5 minutes, and does random.

I have noticed it seems to rip tracks in a random order.

Hi Howard

Thanks, I will check Advanced, I am understanding I would want "keep organized" checked ?

Sorry Jeff, it is a yes , I have that checked on mine and it seems to be OK , it does state it keeps files in track order.

Some one with greater knowledge may offer some other tips.

That is not the problem. I have "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" unchecked (have for years) and I don't have problems with track order.

You need to fiddle with what column is controlling sort order in whatever iTunes view you are using.

Thanks for the info/clue.  I will play around.
