Incomplete file listings over network

Posted by: sktn77a on 16 November 2011

I have my HDX connected into my home network and I can see all albums/artists/songs in the desktop client utility.  However, my kids use Windows Media Player and only about 1/4 of the albums are listed under the HDX (and a couple are duplicated).  I've tried flushing caches and temporary files but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Keith, those albums that doesn't show up are those in a different format than those that does show up?

No, they were all ripped on the HDX and onto the HDX internal drive(s).  Of ~200 CDs I ripped over the last month, all are viewable on the Naim Desktop client software but only about 25% can be seen on Windows Media Player.  Another starnge observation, several of the album covers that are viewable on the HDX front display don't show up on the Naim desktop client (under properties, while others do show up)?

Que Passa???

The reality is the HDX was not designed to be used that way. It does however have a UPNP server so your son could installed a renderer on his PC and access the music that way

I have no idea of good software to do this on PC, sorry.
