Sunday listening

Posted by: AlexWard on 04 December 2011

Enjoying a Sunday morning listening to Radio Paradise and KCRW.

System is NDX, Supernait, Hicap 2, UnitiServe into Audiovector Si3 Avantgarde Arrete.

Cables are Chord Anthem between NDX and Supernait. Speaker cable is Chord Odyssey.

All sat nicely on Fraim.

Put the system together slowly over the year, with good advice from my dealer and reading some of the great topics here.

Next upgrades are well into the future for me. For now I am more than happy to sit and enjoy the music.

That's a nice system you have there! Hope you enjoy it a lot. BTW: I also love Radio Paradise...

Hello AlexWard,

Nice to hear another Audiovector Si3 avantgarde arreté user, with also Chord Anthem etc.

In my case I use CD5x, FC2x (for both CD and amp), NaitXS, Anthem 2 Din-Din, Epic Twin for loadspeaker cables and a Furutech Rodium wall socket with 2 + 2 outlets. Very close to the wall socket there is one earth connection using the same cable length about 150 mm for each socket getting some sort of balance to the point of earth.

And from the 16A fuse a 2,5 mm2 cable in the wall-roof etc.

All cables lays on foam carefully positioned above the oak floor which lays onto rubber-cork 3 mm layer, that reducing floor vibrations. The boxes stays on hardened 10 mm glass with small dampers in a bench, this might not optimal at higher volumes but is is ok.

Now, I added one Power Line connected directly to the Furutech wall socket and FC2x.

Wow, very big change. Especially bass controls, intrument separation, quiter between tones etc.

I suppose the results are quit big because the sensitive loadspeakers and the prepared wall socket, both in rodium as the Furutech plug on the Power Line. I guess it is something similar effect using Anthem 2 together with the Epic Twin.

My conlusion or opinion (only my own) is at the moment, some cables make bigger differents than others just because the things around, how they match each other. It is of course the room acoustics and the personel priorities....But I think I really find one weak point here, not too expensive to upgrade...any comments?
