N-server app can't start after Nas close down

Posted by: kiba on 07 December 2011

I close my Nas down during daytime - my unitserver is allway running. from time to time, after Nas is up  and runing, the n-server app, when activated, is just closing down on me. I then need to reboot the untiserver,  before working again.  This is happing with and without "Auto connecting" selected (in the settings)

My Nas closes down during the day, and I leave my unitqute on all the time. I never have any problems.

Can I ask why you shut your NASes down., sort of goes against the idea I would say?*

*I access my nas from work for files and music.

I probably spend at most 20% of my time listening to the Hi-Fi, so my NAS (and Mac mini server) powers off at night and through the daytime, powering up again ready for when i get home in the evening. No point it being on if i'm not there.

Kiba - just a thought. Have you got your NAS as a fixed IP address. Just thinking if it's starting up and using DHCP to request a new IP address, maybe that's why your Unitserve needs a restart so it can find it again ?

I have thougt thar my problem were n-server app. Next time on occurance I will start my PC to use the desk top client in order to see if I can rule that out. I think I use static IP for the NAS, I will check

Because I would have no need for it since I'm at work. I guess it doesn't use much electricity but I figure the disks may last longer. Maybe I'm wrong on that.
