I've started transferring mono music videos to DVD. I'm able to tweak the video by adjusting recording settings on the recorder, but don't seem able to tweak the audio. Once I download the DVD to a PC, is there any software that will allow me the clean up the sound.
Also, I'm recording using the second best video quality, 90 mins per DVD. Is there any point going to the highest quality.
Any tips would be appreciated

Have a look at the PC Advisor Magazine website - lots of free software dowloads there for A/V applications. I suspect that to tweak the audio you would need to convert the whole thing to a different file type specifying the new settings and re-burn to a DVD. There is certainly (free) software that will do this, but not sure how much control you will have over things - very little I suspect, certainly with free software. The other thing to bear in mind is that messing with video files can often lead to sync issues which just ruins the whole thing. If I were you I really wouldn't bother unless you want to invest many hours of your time experimenting - the results are unlikely to be worth it. No point in going for the highest video quality if the source is VHS.

Thanks for the advice, from what you say it's probably not worth doing. I have a couple of so called video enhancers somewhere, I'll dig them out and see if it's possible to tweek the audio.
