Child of the 80's

Posted by: Ellsworth on 02 January 2012

For good or for bad Im a child of the 80's and Im a fanatic electronic music fan. The first album I bought was tubular bells! and the second was Electro 1 (a good candidate for for album of the century).

Im looking for 24 bit dowmloads of current and past electronic music. My Uniti/Dynaudio combo suit this music very well. Can anyone point me in the righ direction? Theres tonnes of classical 24 bit stuff out there but I cant find contemporary tracks. Any ideas??

Also, is there a post outlining all the current 24 bit download websites? (apologies if this is a re-post)

I can't see the point of hi-res Delia Derbyshire tracks as they won't sound any better than the originals. However, a collection of electronic music without the greatest pioneer of the genre is like playing football without a ball, both goals and a pitch.

Electrosonic by Delia Derbyshire

White Noise: An Electric Storm by Delia Derbyshire and David Varhaus

The Tomorrow People by Delia Derbyshire et al

It doesn't get better.

Other Electronic wonders are The Silver Apples and Tonto's Expanding Head Band

And of course, Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk.

The end of the world seemed much closer back in 1980 (when someone lent me these tapes).

This was followed by purchasing Penthouse and Pavement (see, analogue "download" followed by actual purchase...........I guess that made me a goodie goodie but I cared about sound quality even back then)

At the time I was sure that the guitar was on its death bed (now I have one of my own)
