Can't access Album listing through N-Stream or Naim remote

Since my ND5 arrived a few weeks ago, I've been busy ripping CDs to my NAS (Buffalo Terastation) via iTunes in a mixture of Apple Lossless and AIFF.  So far so good a few hundred albums in until yesterday when I could no longer access the Album listing either via N-Stream or the Naim remote.  I can still play music from the NAS using the All tracks and Artist views but every time I click on Albums it starts loading but then reverts to the previous screen.  When I look at the All Tracks view, the beginning of the list no longer has Album or Artist names associated with it and the track names only show a small proportion of the title

I'd be really grateful if anyone had any ideas of how to fix it

Once you have selected the UPnP server on any of the UPnP clients then everything that you see in the way of lists of music and menus of options is generated on the fly by the UPnP server (in your case the Buffalo NAS) and not by the UPnP client (in your case the ND5XS).

Given that the menus are not being generated correctly then my first thought is that the UPnP server in the NAS is possibly getting itself in a twist - maybe a set of characters or string values that it can't handle?

Easy way to see where the issue is is to point another UPnP client at the Buffalo NAS and see if it gets the same - if it does then it's an issue with the UPnP server, if not then the ND5XS is having a problem parsing the data that is being returned from the Buffalo's UPnP server.

Cheers

Thanks. - v helpful Seems to be an issue with the server and its built in unsophisticated media data fields
