WMP and Streamers, news

FYI,

Windows Media Player works like a charm as a UPnP server with all streamers after the upgrade to 3.09.

I have all kind of music formats, tagged or not, in many folders structures, complete albums, unique tracks ...on my laptop, a mess . WMP present all in a correct order, all albums titles, artists names. I am impressed, it does better than Asset...

Have you also managed to get the presentation of the album art to work properly? I have tried all sort of things without any luck (Windows Vista/Service Pack 2 and Windows Media Player Version 11.0.6002.18311 >> NU and 3.16).

Hi Manu -

Can you be more specific about where you find Asset lacking?  AFAIK, Asset will find whatever media file types you've selected in whatever folders you've specified.  Specify a top level folder, and Asset will look everywhere.

Thanks!

PS - Some specific questions just popped into my head:  Does WMP transcode FLAC to WAV on-the-fly?  I have an AVR that does not support FLAC, so I need this capability.  Also, how is WMP at automatically finding and serving newly added rips?  Lastly, how does WMP handle the "Beatles, The" versus "The Beatles" sort order issue?   Thanks again!
