High level amp sub connection

Hi there,

My setup consists of a Naim AV2 to a NAP250.2 and NAPV175 powering 2 Linn Kabers for the front.

I had a Rel Quake connected to the low-level on the AV2 mainly for the .1 LFE channel on movies.

Over Christmas, I've replaced this with a B&W PV1 which I simply slotted in quickly and connected it up to the LFE output on the AV2 still.

However, at the moment, I'm using the AV2 in Stereo mode while listening to 2 channel music to bring the subwoofer in. I'd like to be able to change this to using the Direct mode as the quality is better, particularly in high-res music from my streamer.

I'd like to connect the PV1 using the high-level inputs that it has. Now, my challenge seems to be that my sub sits next to my equipment rack and the right hand speaker. This would be fine to just connect to the highlevel outputs of the 250.2.

However, i've read that I should not connect here, but to the speaker ends of the high-level. Which unfortunately for me to get to the left hand speaker is under a low floor, covered in wood, with a solid stone fireplace between it.

Can i connect to the high-level outputs on the 250.2 ?

Thanks,

Roy.

Roy,

Keep in  mind you can use very small wires to go to the sub, maybe you can hide them...

Otherwise, go from the 250's, not a big deal.

Thanks Manu. I think it had been Richard Dane that had previously suggested only connecting to the speaker end of the high level.

Yeah, unfortunately I put all of my wiring in under the floors and in walls before I knew that I'd need a high level to speakers. It would be obvious a cable was being run.

So, that was why I wanted to check that connecting direct to the amp end would be ok.

I have my REL Serie T-7 connected to my NAP250.2 speaker outputs, with NACA5 going to the speakers. I use Cardas double banana plugs to accept spades from the REL cable and Naim bananas from the NACA5. They plug right in the NAP. Sounds great, and there are no issues.

Any good place to get the Cardas in the UK ?

I don't know. I got mine from MusicDirect, but they say they only ship to US addresses.
