Every Picture Tells A Story LP Sound Quality

All

Just dug out my copy of every picture tells a story by Rod Stewart. (Not played for Ages) The sound quality I am getting from it is abissma.  It sounds all muffled and lost.  The condition is good and lovely and clean and shiny.

Was the original recording really that bad? Got 5 stars on Amazon

Played on an LP12 and other lp's sound ok

Does anybody else have a copy the same.

Thanks HiFiKid

I just played my copy (Netherlands print 6336 548) on WTA and it sounded OK (similar than some other records played recently) and certainly not muffled though the sound quality as awhole can not described to be great compared to best ones.

If you can get a hold on a second copy you might want to give it another try. The music itself was better than I remembered.

In my opinion, EPTAS is possibly the very best rock album ever produced.

When I consider his more recent stuff, it makes me  think what on earth happened........ Respect of course if you like the recent stuff

I think I have found the problem.  Ref thread now on HiFi corner I seem to have a tweeter not working in one of my SBL speakers.  It seems more noticable on this lp and even less so when I play a cd.

I found it because i noticed the voices were now always one sided which was never the case.

Big bill comeing I think.

thanks all
