Recent purchase of a ND5XS connected to existing Supernait. Ripped music files are currently on a Buffalo nas drive hard wired. (Combination of Flac and MP3 (320) files.)
The Buffalo nas drive has a very basic media programme built in with limited search facility.
I have downloaded Asset Upnp and Control to my computer which offers far more substantial search options. This is built into Ripmaster AssetNas Drives which I am considering buying.
Does any forum member have any experience of these or could they suggest any other suitable Nas Drive.
Many Thanks

I use the AssetNAS as my music source for playback through NDX. I chose it specifically because it runs Asset Upnp, which I particularly like. The AssetNAS box is based on Windows Home Server. It has worked very well for about a year now. It means I can play music without needing the PC to be switched on.

Thanks for that John.
I have tried various other Upnp programmes and I agree with you, Asset is by far the most comprehensive. Just a shame that I am unable to install onto my existing Nas Drive. Need to bite the bullet and purchase AssetNas. Did you purchase a unit complete with hard drive (s) already installed or seperate? Just wondering on compatability issues. Could buy basic AssetNas and install drives from my existing Buffalo unit.
