nstream improvments

Posted by: JLD on 02 February 2012

Hello,

May I suggest few small improvements to nstreams used on my my brand new iphone to control my Uniti?
(app version 2.2)

GENERAL

1-Is it possible to add a numeric info for volume?

2-Some UI management features should be added. In example to suppress some inputs and to rename analog 1-2-3 and digital 1to4 with more explicit and personalised names.

UPnP control point  (Asset UpnP as server)

1-The next track button works fine but the previous track button relaunch the track  played.
The logical should be the same for both.
In addition to this the icon could be with 2 triangles (see next point)

2-It could be usefull to add a play cursor to navigate in a specific track.
(This seems actually how nserve works (with 2 triangles+slash icons))

3-In the library navigation with long track titles, It's impossible to read all the text.
It could be perfect to add a scroll feature

4-Is it possible to add playlist feature?

i RADIO

1-Presets
It could be nice to have a possibilty to delete and rename presets (a 3 options menu as in the main display should be perfect)

What else?
A big thank  for having made available this  application for free!

Hope this helps you to make every time the best products.

Jean luc - can you not change input names on the Uniti itself. You can on the NDX and n stream just reflects these changes.

In fact, you can completely suppress them if you don't need them.  NStream just reflects the NDX setup.  [I'm guessing the same works on the Uniti]

I have a Uniti and you use the settings menu on the Uniti to disable inputs you don't use and rename the ones you do use.  The input names you set on the Uniti then appear on nStream app.

Will be starting to use nStream very soon (NDX on the way).  When I had the demo I noticed that there didn't seem to be any way to fast forward through a track to a particular point.  This would be useful for the times I am using it to listen to audiobooks and want to return to where I left off.  If that facility IS there, please tell me how to get at it, and if not - well it would be a good additon.

Its not - i think its on the list of improvements to do on another release.

James, Slioch, David,

I thank you very much for the suggestion about inputs (suppression and name).

I've completely missed these options!

That works perfectly

Indeed it does have its moments.

edit: or is it "it's moments"

Definitely "its".  It's means "it is"

Posted on: 03 February 2012 by Sloop John B

but do "the moments" not belong to the forum so being possessive which should have the apostrophe?

It would be the forum's moments so why not it's moments?

That's my conundrum.

any grammar experts?

"it's" is the recognised abbreviation of "it is"

By convention, to differentiate the two, the possessive form is "its".

Where did you go to school?

as moments is plural should it be its' moments?

always loved grammar!

NOOOOOO!  See me after class!

Right on, Noogle!  On the internet, "it's" vs. "its" is, by far, the most common punctuation mistake--committed not just by the rank and file, but by "professional" writers who should know better.

While we're (we are) right off subject, there's (there is/are) an awful lot of folks who get 'their' and 'there' wrong too.  Thank the Lord you don't (do not) have to know spelling to appreciate music!

Suitably chastened I shall endeavor to be grammatically correct henceforth, now that I realize how colored peoples opinions can become and I do no wish to give offense through my dialog.
