Yeah, yeah, I know it's all about average global temperatures, and we will see more extremes, but my heating oil bills are telling me that winter is out doing summer.

I am not so far from you Tony, a minus 11c in Beck Row or so the car said before I got out, backed up by my i-pod touch weather app also showing minus 11c. brrrr.

Just back from snapping! My 40D's battery was still going strong after 30 minutes, but I was suffering. It's just beautiful out there.

I know what you mean...It's all very noble and interesting trying to capture changed conditions but the sunset pictures I took at the mere the other day close on finished me off. Out for about 3/4 hour and I was freezing. And it was only about -2! Need some photographers gloves with the fingers that slide up.

Something I'd never seen before was the large crystals falling of the trees and forming a crusty layer on top of the snow. Gorgeous, but pretty much beyond me for photographing. Tony PS. -11c now.
