Is something wrong/worse with the forum again?

Getting no top or bottom strips. Same on another (Ubuntu) computer. Looks like it did when the main site went down, but it's OK this time.
Mine is "normal". And I still don't understand why "Padded Cell" isn't listed at the top.

Too controversial or not enough room. Can't recall which.

Too controversial, ...
It might have been at one time, but it has nothing much going on at all these days!

Oh come on...Are you serious? Some of the responses in the Whitney's dead thread bordered on the mildly pugnacious.
I did not open that one!
In fact as much as knew about her, I did not realise that she was a non-white, till I saw a picture of her in news paper!
I assumed a shouter like that must be a white wannabe!
Sorry for that!

Careful George...
Come on Jamie, we got shake this place up a bit!

Steady George...
Yes, there seems to be an issue with the header and footer links. I've been tearing my hair out for days thinking this was related to my other woes since a big Windows 7 update and a Firefox update that seems to have caused no end of other problems. However, using my iPhone today I have found it's the same, so has to be related to the website update last week. Anyway, I'm on the case...
Dear Richard,
All I am saying is that secularists no longer call the theists mad, and Mick Parry has disappeared altogether ... etc!
Be good if the Cell - at least - was a little more robust in its sense of division within the loving circle that Naim owners [or admirers] form!
I am not out for WW III!

Easy...You'll be invading Poland next
More likely I'd be on holiday there with one or other of my Polish colleagues!
Though if the invasion came no doubt I'd have a rifle in my hand!

Hadn't noticed before but it looks dodgy on a mac using safari.
The footer links are still there on my laptop. But they are not visible.......until you move the mouse over them, when they light up one at a time in response to the moving mouse.............cute ? Another Hopeless invention.
Will theyever get anything right ?
Cheers
Don
Don,
I get the same but I don't think it's supposed to be that way. Do you get any Naim logo at the top of the page?
iMac/Safari
No Naim logo and forum links at bottom of page almost invisible.
Forum links at the bottom of the screen. Yes they are in white on a light grey back ground - if you cannot see them on your screen then it is a pretty good good indication that your screen is not calibrated correctly - so you should be quite concerned about the colour fidelity of any image you see on your screen.
This is not to justify the chosen colours used in the forum but highlighting how you can benefit from the the less than optimal design.

I am in London today in an office (change from my normal day) and the computer here (Dell Optiplex GX620 with Windows XP and IE8 - well maintained by a large, well-run company) is displaying the footer properly with all the links visible (white letters on a black background). I was here yesterday as well and as far as I can recall, it was like this yesterday. This computer also displays the Naim logo in the top left hand corner - the one that has an active link back to the rest of the web site.
Last night, at home (ThinkPad with Windows XP and IE9 - maintained by me) I could only see the footer (as described in my post above) when the mouse hovered above some text. The text appeared as a pale green colour.
I can't remember whether I could see the Naim Logo at the top of the page on my computer at home, but will look again when I get back tonight.
When these things go wrong I usually assume its me, having hit some extraneous key by mistake. But more recently keep finding its Hoopla creating a computer-dependant version of their latest software.
Cheers
Don
I get 2 different shows on my Dell laptop running Vista
With Google Chrome its missing the dark header strip with the Naim logo & the dark footer strip but still has the footer links in white lettering (hard to see them)
In the top left corner is a small picture icon that when pressed links to the Naim "Home" page as it does normally with the Naim logo, so I guess this picture icon thing is the Naim logo
When I run it on IE9 its all 100% OK
The dark header & footers with the Naim logo is all there.
The only reason anyone's still seeing the top logo link and black around the links at the bottom is because they have their browser set to cache images.
(Also explains why album covers occasionally show up as just a pale green square in 'What are you listening to'. hoop.la blocks the link to the site, but the person posting it doesn't realise it hasn't shown up here, as their browser's cached it.)

Chief, thank you very much indeed. That is a very helpful comment which I shall use to try to rectify the problem when I get home. But.........(and this is not a critisicsm of your good self, rather Hoopla............
..........I haven't changed any of my settings during the past month or more. So this seems to be yet another example of Hoopla changing things which have unexpected (and annoying) consequences for their customers.

Back home.
Black footer has returned complete with Padded Cell and other icons in white.
Naim logo is in place at the top left.
Didn't have to reset my computer, it just seems to have returned to normal, just as eerily as it went wrong yesterday.
It would probably be churlish to critisise Hoopla.
Cheers
Don
Yup bingo, its all reset without touching anything.
IMO it would not be that churlish to criticise Hoop.la, just a little anyhow.
My post counter is stuck at 534. Dang, I'll never reach 555.
Just one more thing on this forum that doesn't work. Sigh.
Jan
PS. Richard, could you add this to your list of items to notify Hoop.la about ?
Many thanks
Congratulations only 3 days to fix.
Probably only three days because Chief gave them a clue................
Cheers
Don (being just a tad churlish)
