Thank you Hoop.la!

Posted by: Alamanka on 20 February 2012

Following the release of the new mobile UI, the forum has become unusable on my mobile device (poor performance, no highlight of selected topic). As a consequence I have now a lot more time for my personal email and to research other topics of interest for me.

Thank you again Hoop.la for helping me manage my time better!

It's a shame they (hopeless) can't manage their time better and produce better product(s).

I thought it was me just getting old and stupid.

The inability of being able to jump to last post is criminal.

6 Ps spring to mind, again.

Piss Poor Planning Permits Poor Performance

The 6Ps are an essential part of 'continuous improvement through iteration'. Management speak for what Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg calls the 'hacker way'. You just throw the idea out there, see if it works, if so then great, if not then too bad. Regardless of outcome, we'll try something else anyway because things can always be improved upon.

Complete bullsh*t if you ask me but who am I; with 850m or so subscribers, or more than 10% of the world population, Facebook seems to have a point. Perhaps Hoopla is aiming high...

EJS,

I'm sure that the continuous improvement through iteration is all part of the grand design....after all, look at all the positive feedback they have gathered over the last year or so from this forum alone.  Priceless!

didn't it used to be called "trial and error" ?

A tedious "trial" for us, and loads of "errors" on the part of Hoopla.

How many contibutors to the Forum would honestly recommend Hoopla to their business friends ?

Cheers

Howard, spot on,

I only hope the Americans who write the software for their UAVs (Unmaned Aerial Vehicles) and the EFIS (Electronic Flight Information Systems) in thier Boeing aircraft do a bit more testing before release...........well, I did say hope!

Don,

In a past life I did work for a big US defence and cyber security contractor.......yes there is more testing....

Phew! that's good to know.

We have an increasing number of training aircraft in our fleet that are fitted with EFIS and GPS, both linked to autopilots. The menus and button-pushing sequences are usually fairly intuitive, but.........there is the occasional "gotcha"

So far I haven't seen "Hoopla" mentioned in any of the manuals - which is reassuring !

Cheers

I will now call the Webster and ask to retain hoopla as part of our American vernacular ..
Every time someone faffs up it will now be forever called. A hoopla. He's hoopla...he hooplad. He was hooplad from the beginning. She hooplad him. He hooplad her. When he fell over the cliff, his remains were a mess of hooplad bits.
since hoopla became the provider for the naim forum, the forum and its ability to provide a fun and enjoyable experience has been pretty hooplad.

Jim I think there's more testing in a first year computer science NC course at our local college.

I wish they'd just use Tapatalk like Linn, the fish forum and lots of others I frequent. Tapatalk works.
