DTC on 64 bit Windowws

Posted by: Claus-Thoegersen on 25 February 2012

I have just bought a laptop running Windows 64 bit. This has until now created a lot of frustration! The biggest one, at least the one I cannot solve is that theDesktop client installer, the latest from the website, does not  install. Is there a workaround so I can install it. I really hope so!

Hi Clauss,

I have the DTC installed on 2 64bit windows machines, with no trouble. You seem to suggest there are other issues apart from DTC is that so?. Also what is the exact problem on installation?

Thanks I found the solution! The installer or rather Windows did not want to install it from an external usb disk. Copied to the internal SSD everything worked fine.

The computer works fine, my big problem with eery version of Windows after XP, is the lack of an email client that works half as well as Outlook Express!

Have you tried Mozilla "Thunderbird"? Outlook itself is very good too (but of course not free)....

Cheers

Windows Live Mail is the current free Windows email client and is pretty good.
