NDS ?

Could someone explain why the new NDS will benefit from two as opposed to one 555ps's?
In such a configuration what Burndy type cables will be required to run the NDS with one or two 555ps's?
Finally does the new NDS and one or two 5555ps's make the use of a nDAC no longer necessary?
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction Aleg,
I just read the link you supplied, but it seems to contain a lots of assumptions.
I was about to put an order in with my dealer to PX my NDX and nDAC for a NDS and a second 555ps tomorrow. Therefore, I was hoping someone had exact answers to my questions.
Check out the NDS blog on the What Hi Fi website. There is an account of Naim's presentation to the press, including diagrams which show how the XPS and the NDS power the various bits the NDS.

Obviously, something that costs more and that takes up more space must sound better. Jeez!
although i love Naim - i think this is taking the "mickey" - 2 555PS's ! jesus !

Maybe, but I can't see how you could use 3 555 PSs on it.
One will be fine for me.
Can it play AAC files? OK so it sounds like a very very daft question, but there are a few albums I have that are not available in any other format, so it is Hobson's choice. I would like to be able to play them.

I understand your sentiment, but as with the CD555, it will no doubt add something. it's not taking the "mickey" rather than offering the opportunity for further upgrade for those who desire it and can afford it.
I will almost certainly not buy a second 555PS when my NDS arrives, but would not begrudge others who wish to buy it.

Guy, according to the NDS page on the Naim website:
Streams/plays WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, AAC, Windows Media-formatted content, Ogg Vorbis and MP3 files from any suitable UPnP™ device or USB-connected storage device
And it's confirmed in the press release:
The NDS will support all the main files formats and some. WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, Windows Media-formatted content, Ogg Vorbis and MP3 files are all catered for, as is gapless playback.
So everything is fine regarding iTunes downloads with this one.
