Doug/Mark or anyone from the Naim crew,

At the Bristol show this weekend you played a brilliant Jeff Beck track from a live album. Can you advise the album I must get

Regards,

Lindsay

Didn't know JB had done a live album from Bristol!

He did do one fine one from Ronnie Scotts club though.

Rumour had it that it wasn't a Naim system we heard at all, JB was behind the curtain.

Lindsay, that was a great track, and a shame it was too short.  I tried to find out after the demo but both Mark and I were quickly buttonholed to chat with some of the attendees and before I knew it, the next demo was about to begin.  I then had to get on my way, so never found out...

The album was "Performing This Week...Live At Ronnie Scott's". Currently £6.99 @ Amazon

Thanks Dave but I emailed Naim and they said the track was Brush With the Blues from Who Else. A quick listen on Spotify certainly identified as that version. That said I'm sure the Ronnie's version is superb as well.

Tal Wilkenfeld. An Aussie phenomenon.

She knocks it out of the park. The Jeff Beck Blu-ray is one of he best live music recordings I have. Maybe the best. (OK - The Cure - Trilogy with the three albums is close competition). Tal also gets a gig on the great New Lee Ritenour guitar compilation, "6 String Theory".

Talking Heads - "Stop Making Sense" is another all-time fave music film.

Indeed. I remeber seeing the film in a large movie theater (which unfortunately does not exist enymore). It was quite like being present at the original gigs. Already Psycho Killer really made the socks to roll in your feet.

Same here. I'll never forget seeing it in the theatre 28 years(!) ago. I have it on Bluray now, but it isn't quite the same. I still remember some of the quotes from the album notes e.g.  "If you keep your money in your shoe, people will know which bills are yours."
