Well dudes like that can write all they want. Quite honestly it is pointless, You can easily get hold of some high resolution and standard resolution files and compare them in the comfort of your own home - if you like one better than the other then go for it.
Fact - I think the 24/44.1 Abbey Road sounds better than the 16/44.1 Abbey Road, but I still prefer the vinyl and cassette versions I have.

Roy Harper wrote some very good notes on why he thinks he can do much better than iTunes or the 1990s releases of his catalogue. His ambition is to match the quality of the original vinyl releases. I say hats off to Roy (Harper),
I think the article writer probably doesn't have a Naim system and he's a bit sulky; we'd probably think he was a really nice Guy if we ever met him.
