Artwork is still a bit last century

Why is the art work for an album restricted to a square that resembles a CD cover why can it not be a bit more interesting?
Ogden's Nut Gone Flake had a really interesting cover both on the vinyl record and is the CD sweet tin, but when we switch to computer audio we get a boring old square.
Led Zeppelin III had a super cover
Bark by Jefferson Airplane came in a dustbin bag complete with instructions on what you could do with it.
Embryo's first album had a balloon and you could peel the banana on the Velvet Underground and Nico.
Brain Salad Surgery is now flat.
And what about gatefold sleeves - I think we need some better software that lets you get album art the way it used to be - far more three dimensional representations.
So let's get away from the square world and have bit of variety.
Surely with new technology it should be more interesting not less - where's my Roger Dean poster to hang on the wall?
