NStream with new iPad
Posted by: Chris G on 18 March 2012
I had to manually enter an IP address when I configured n-Stream on my new iPad but I had to do the same with n-Stream on my iPhone. I think my problem may be due to my old Thompson 780WL wireless ADSL router having issues with uPnP. Is your phone also running iOS 5.1?
One difference I did notice was some of the album art thumbnails for the Twonky v6.0.38 served "Album" list view show a Naim icon instead of the album art when n-Stream on the iPhone shows the correct art. I'll have to try clearing the cache on my phone to see if the problem shows up on the phone too.
I had to manually enter IP address for NDX.
Does it look any better?
...and is it any faster with n-Stream?

Didn't have any issues with my new iPad 3rd generation and my NDX. Found NDX automatically without entering IP manually. My router is a newish one (Billion Bipac 7800n). App looks identical on screen as my iPad 2nd generation. Looking forward to new n-stream app that plays playlists later this year!

The low res album art from my Twonky 6.0.38 server looks nice and blocky on the new iPad. Anyone know how to fix the album art sizing from Twonky? I've tried setting the device type to Linn Kinsky desktop control point in an attempt to stop it resizing the album art but it still looks like 160px. I'll have to take a packet capture and see what n-Stream is sending to the NAS to see if I can add a custom entry to the Twonky clients.db file.
There is no difference in how it looks on Ipad1, Ipad 2 or Ipad3 - they all look the same.
I have all three - it seems slightly faster on the new Ipad and I did not have any issues with it finding my NDX or HDX.

Exquisitely poppable. You can almost see the puss churning from the little bacterium swimming and multiplying.

That's great detail, now tell us how to clean the underside of the Retina display when you pop one!
