Ripping from DVD?

Posted by: Dr Hyde on 02 April 2012

Hi Chums

Just bought King Crimson "Discipline" re-re-issue which has 96KHz/ 24 bit stereo files on a DVD. Is there any way to rip these files to my NAS for streaming?

I normally rip CDs with dBPoweramp.

Do a search on 'DVD extractor software'. There a few and some offer at least a 30 day free trial

Dr Hyde,

I assume you've bought the DVD-Audio?

I use DVDAexplorer - free and it works.

Plenty of apps about. DVD Audio Extractor here. Some of the best HiRes files I have were home made.

In the mean time I have been playing Hyde's DVD through a Philips BluRay player taking the optical digital out into a Teddy Pardo DAC then into the NAC 252, and it certainly blows the CDS2 into the weeds!
