New Bonnie Raitt album - highly recommended

The new album Slipstream is her best for over twenty years. A real eclectic mix of blues, rock and ballads. It is by a long way my favourite album of the year so far. The musicianship and sound quality are absolutely stunning.

Thanks for that, Steve. I used to like her a lot but she got a bit bland. I'll give the new one a listen.

Coincidentally, I listened to Nick of Time tonight. Recorded in 89 and sounds like it - all Eastenders drums and treatments.

I read an interview in LA  Times, she'd been on the road constantly then her father died and  then brother from cancer and it wiped her out emotionally.  Put band on hold for a few years and became a fan, going to wide range of concerts and people.  You can only imagine her back stage cred and conversations and travels.  Then she had the inspiration  to get back to it.  She said 'when it's in your blood you can stay away from onlty so long. '

I've heard a few songs on Sirius XM station called The Loft, my new favorite rock station, wonderful mix.
