I've never really heard much of his music but he is really growing on me. Especially live.

Watch:  Two Step - Best Live Version Ever.  On YouTube.

It's well worth it.

Before These Crowded Streets......amazing album. Often hear rumours of his arrogance and unpleasant nature tho?

years ago I discovered him after everybody else. Was working on computer graphics temp job, we got to listen to CDs on headphones, on a lunch break was in a mall and the record store cruising I picked up Live in Chicago.  Loved the opening and the roar of the crowd.  Then doing All Along the Watchtower got my admiration.  I don't hear his stuff much these days.

at that time i went to a bar's beer bust on Sundays and mentioned to a guy who was somehow involved in entertainment and he absolutely refused to let me talk about DM

Have seen him live only twice - once with the full DMB, and once it was just him and Tim Reynolds.

Both shows were very entertaining, but the volume level for the full DMB show forced me to wear ear plugs throughout.   The show with just the Duo was outstanding, and very memorable.

Highly recommend the "Live at Radio City" Blu Ray for the duo (features an incredible version of "Dancing Nancies").

I like all seven DMB studio albums, but the earlier albums are my favorites.   "Red Rocks" is a well recorded live album from the mid 90's.  Am sure they've released more live than studio albums.

I've heard that Dave is hard working, disciplined, and type A.  Probably rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but how else do you keep a large band (that is constantly touring) together for 20 years?
