Have seen him live only twice - once with the full DMB, and once it was just him and Tim Reynolds.
Both shows were very entertaining, but the volume level for the full DMB show forced me to wear ear plugs throughout. The show with just the Duo was outstanding, and very memorable.
Highly recommend the "Live at Radio City" Blu Ray for the duo (features an incredible version of "Dancing Nancies").
I like all seven DMB studio albums, but the earlier albums are my favorites. "Red Rocks" is a well recorded live album from the mid 90's. Am sure they've released more live than studio albums.
I've heard that Dave is hard working, disciplined, and type A. Probably rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but how else do you keep a large band (that is constantly touring) together for 20 years?
