Uniti..powered 24/7 ?

Thoughts please..leave it powered 24/7 or shut off at night? ...what do you guys do when off on holidays etc , just leave it powered?

Uniti (as per most Naim products) is designed to be left on 24/7.

I just mute mine and switch it to an analogue input when not in use.

If I'm away for more than two days I always power down just to be on safe side.

Keep the power flowing!

Like Jon, I only turn off when it's holiday time

Thats what I do. I'm sure I've read that switching to analogue switches of part of the digitalcircuitry.

When I demoed the Unity I noticed it stays quite warm.  There is a temperature reading on one of it's menus/screens and I got the impression it maintains itself at about 30 degrees C.

I shut off mine every day, is it a bas thing for the unit?should I leave it on?

QoS, you may have read here and elsewhere that Naim boxes can take days to come 'on song' (i.e. they sound better having been left on for a while - some say days, or even months...) I gather that this may be less the case for the power amps than, say, sources but as the NU is all-in-one, for best listening performance you'd be advised to keep the box turned on. I recall an earlier discussion about electrical storms and holidays but these can be viewed as exceptions. I've never put any of this to the test, leaving both my NU and my SU on all the time. Balma,

Frankly, I've no real idea. Except I read once on the forum that it turns off part of the digital circuit.

Whether this is true or not, I don't know. But now I'm in the habit of doing it, it's just automatic.

At least it can't do it any harm!

@McGhie: thanks for the advice, I am already happy of the sound, having made a big step for my listening experience. I will now leave it on, looking forward to hear the improvements!
