What was your last concert you went to ?

Just returning from one of the Enjoy Jazz Festival concerts currently happening in my area. The old man and the younger lady burnt the house down ! Let's put the cover of forgiving and forgetting over the sound of the P.A. but fortunately you were able to hear both the piano and the saxes through the amplifiers, and that was a pleasure to do ! Shepp (whom I saw before, when he was much younger) still has so much energy that flows directly into his horn (and voice !!!), that it's breath taking. May he still live long and produce music, music, music !
Best regards, freundliche Grüße
Stefan
Bart,
You saw 'alf The 'ho? C'mon, ya gotta give us more than a photo. Details?
They let Keith sing "Bellboy"
And Barbara Bach's son played drums
And Barbara Bach's son played drums
Is that Zach Starkey?
Yes; a fine drummer!
Yes; a fine drummer!
Great drummer. But he's Ringo's son by his first wife Maureen.

Darn -- I always thought he was Barbara Bach's daughter. Thanks for the correction!
Times change. Roger is enjoying a cup of tea.

Were you one of those annoying ****s who holds their phone up to take crappy photos?
RUSH was last show I saw. Nov 13 at Key arena, where I saw my first rock concert in '78 - Heart.
Clockwork Angels was pretty good live but bass didn't stand out as well as on album though Geddy did tear it up. Stage show was almost too much though a couple of visuals were really cool. Would have much preferred to see them out of doors at the amazing Gorge Amphitheater in Eastern Washington where I've seen them for T4E, VT, and S&A. That place is special.
Bellowhead at the Engine Shed Lincoln, my first folky type gig at 53 and a really impressive set. Loved it.
Following the folky theme, we saw the Urban Jazz Quartet at The Spring in Havant a couple of weeks ago. They are a fantastic band, highly recommended.
Dweezil Zappa in Gothenburg last saturday.
Very good sound and "Cosmic Debris" was outstanding
Bobby Womack at The Forum last night.
Part 1: First 30 mins of new stuff. Visceral performance by Bobby. His vocals captivate the crowd. Then off stage.
Part 2: Returns with 6-piece band plus backing trio at least one of whom worthy of a solo career. Simply magical review of back catalogue plus various soul and gospel standards.
Overall, religious. They don't make them like this any more.
Stones at The O2. Outstanding!!
Tumbling Dice!!
Lloydy, What does their new single remind you of? I can't think but it definitely reminds me of something else which I just can't place!

Which one do you mean Doom & gloom or One more Shot?
Stones at The O2. Outstanding!!
I can confirm that !!!
Amazing Show!!!
Doom And Gloom!
Keane at Nottingham Arena in the round, only 6 rows back, slightly raised above the floor seats, awesome sound, awesome lights, awesome band......the vibrations are still coursing through my bones.....great night
Went to Cadogan Hall in London last night for a concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The program was VW's Thomas Tallis, Shostakovitch's Piano Concerto No.1, Delius The Walk To The Paradise Garden, and Sibelius Symphony No.5. The VW was a delightful way to start off the concert, the ante chamber of the Cadogan Hall beinmg used to excellent effect here. The playing was of a very high standard throughout and conductor Rory McDonald is a rising star for sure on this evidence. But the highlight was Natasha Paremski on the piano - wow! A really tricky piece to pull off but both she and the orchestra succeeded marvellously. Almost certainly one of the best classical concerts I've been to. The crying shame was the number of empty seats...
Elbow at Manchester Arena, last night. Absolutely top notch performance from start to finish. Band on really great form with a ramp into the auditorium which was well used, especially by Guy Garvey. One of the best sounding concerts I have heard in the cavernous interior of the Arena, the light show was excellent too.
The band are planning a year off to record new material so it will be some time before they appear live; whenever that is I'd recommend looking them up.
Skunk Anansie in Brixton - great night. Stood just in front of the sound desk - Skin walked right past me, climbed onto the rails, posed for photos then leapt onto our hands and was crowd surfed back to the stage!
Caught Father John Misty last week. good gig at the Norwich Art Centre

Barenaked Ladies with the VSO. Entertaining show. Some of the orchestra looked like they weren't really enjoying the night, though.
