F1 2010

Well, the off-season has been pretty good so far. New teams, a Senna, new rules and the return of a legend. Will the championship live upto expectations? Will Legard still be doing his best to ruin Brundle's commentary efforts?
Will Big Howard have a good word to say about F1? Will people still act surprised when a driver makes a dumb move? Will people still look back at F1 in the 50s/60s/70s/80s through rose tinted glasses?
I'm looking forward to it, and I'm still trying to work out a way to seeing the Spa GP from beside the circuit, not the sofa.

The fact that years after it was abandoned Tony, myself and probably thousands of other F1 fans can still remember 9,6,4,3,2,1 is an indication that it was a good system.
With today's points I can remember it's 25 for the win and I think 18 for second but for the rest I'd have to check out Pitpass or some other F1 site but I've got more important things to do and so I don't bother. Maybe that's it ... I grew up with a system when F1 was way more important to me that it is now and so that makes most sense to me. It's not that I'm adverse to change (I work in IT so I'm used to it) but fiddling with the points system never made sense to me.
Cheers

I think I remember that the ten points for a win system was introduced to hold back Schuey from total domination. Whatever happened to the 'Big Prize'? I'd rather win just one race than finish second in a hundred!!

Screw that! 2nd in 100 races is worth at least what, 4 world championships? I'll take repeat world titles over 1 race win.

F1 1979Worth watching just to hear James Hunt's comments about the red menace (and to see the smile on his face). Plus ca change...

Great clip. Even as a Ferrari supporter I say that! Critics of Bernie only need to watch videos like this to realise how amateur and non-tv friendly it all was back then.

I've just read that Tom Walkinshaw died on the 12th December. I've mixed feelings about the guy, so I'll just remember him as I saw him in the Bastos Rover SD1.
RIP Tom.
