F1 2010

Well, the off-season has been pretty good so far. New teams, a Senna, new rules and the return of a legend. Will the championship live upto expectations? Will Legard still be doing his best to ruin Brundle's commentary efforts?
Will Big Howard have a good word to say about F1? Will people still act surprised when a driver makes a dumb move? Will people still look back at F1 in the 50s/60s/70s/80s through rose tinted glasses?
I'm looking forward to it, and I'm still trying to work out a way to seeing the Spa GP from beside the circuit, not the sofa.

Should read Raikonen German GP BTW.
Re-assuring though they are not making the same mistakes, just a whole lot of new ones.

I see DC is going to drive for Mercedes in the German Touring Car Championship, partnering Ralph Schumacher.

Looking good so far, hope Vettel can finally bring it home without any technical issues holding him back.

He's still being paid by Red Bull, so no more than now.
Dry race and not very exiting again. I thought Webber rolled over a bit too easily, unless he really is that far behind Vettel.

Well that's the point. He's still an adviser/ambassador for Red Bull. He does well to keep this to a relative minimum on BBC. Is his life going to be easier (he can push for both) or harder (he has to push for both) now with the Mercedes relationship.

Finally a well deserved win for Vettel, can't remember the last time we had two Germans on the podium.

Heidfield and Schumacher may be?
Maybe today was 1 1/2 Germans and 1/2 a Finn?

Likely.

Or even 2 x Schumachers?

There are some great drivers in the field this year, in fact the whole field is rather strong, but not as many racers. Today's racers were Vettel witness turn 1, Hamilton with a brilliant fight through the field, and Alonso driving into the top ten with a duff clutch. All three very impressive.

Are you joking? This was one of the most exciting races in F1 in a very long time. There was so much action and so many great battles this time around. Honestly if that was boring to you then maybe F1 is not your thing.

And for a change the director kept with the right camera at the right time. Good stuff.

The boring bit was the Pink Cows at the front, plus the NR Mercedes that did not seem to lock wheels with anyone.
Whats the forums theory on Shumi?? Lost the desire or reflexes or wrong car ??
The rest of the field had an exciting race & good to see the TV director stay with that
The outstanding race was McLarens, especially LH - 20 to 6 - & grinning like a cheshire kat because he had a real fun to drive race. It was a shame he couldn't get AS to make a mistake as that was the only way he could pass the same engined car even tho his car had the edge on handling. And far play to Force India, they seem to have a car that is beginning to show they might need to be included in the same group as the big boys.

I watched about half an hour of it, then fell asleep.

I've been an F1 fan since the late 50's so I think it is my thing!
We still have the fundamental problem of not being able to overtake,OK there was a lot of overtaking but a Grandee team overtaking a second string team is not that difficult, when it comes to top vs top the same old problem re-occurs, dirty air no down force in the corner on to the straight, even an "F" duct or whatever doesn't seem to work then.
So as good as Lewis' driving was a 2nd or 3rd or higher car was stuck in 6th.
Not so long ago Schumi, Prost Watson were able to start last and win the race, because they were able to use their cars advantages.
Still was Sundays race, boring? Yes at the front, there is always stuff going at the midfield down, we may have seen more than normal.

I agree there definitely are serious problems in F1 regarding overtaking, but yesterday's race was a far cry from the snooze inducing parades I'm used to seing in F1.

Spanish airspace is OK at the moment. The teams just need to get spares from the UK into europe and them drive down to the circuit.

Fantastic race! What a show.

Most UK based teams need to come back for some major upgrades before Barca.
They can't do this by going direct to Spain without some very costly change of plan.

Excellent entertainment
Both McLaren drivers played to their strengths
Sooner or later Alonso is just going to push Massa off the road
Red Bulls continue to have the fastest cars but manage not to make the most of them
Rosberg continues to make MS look silly
