F1 2010

Well, the off-season has been pretty good so far. New teams, a Senna, new rules and the return of a legend. Will the championship live upto expectations? Will Legard still be doing his best to ruin Brundle's commentary efforts?
Will Big Howard have a good word to say about F1? Will people still act surprised when a driver makes a dumb move? Will people still look back at F1 in the 50s/60s/70s/80s through rose tinted glasses?
I'm looking forward to it, and I'm still trying to work out a way to seeing the Spa GP from beside the circuit, not the sofa.

Well, that's it for me for the rest of the year. I will be watching the races via the PVR. Thankfully I did that yesterday after a good day at a Duxford airshow, but even then I could feel a doze coming on between x16 blasts on the fast forward button. Once Alonso's drive through the tailenders was over, there was nothing to watch.

Agreed. Dull, dull, dull. They should give them karts for that 'occasion' let's not dignify it with the term 'race'. Then make them run for the karts at the start.

Totally agree, like so many F1 tracks, there's not enough over-taking areas especially @ Monaco. MotoGP and touring cars have more drama, there's probably more over-taking with WRC, but despite coming to this conclusion years ago, I still find myself watching it (Glutten for punishment)
I'll more than likely watch the rest of the season, mainly in the hope that Webber/Red Bull loses the championship. (come-on maclaren boys show that sheila how to drive)

I had a moderately okay view.
This was from my phone, pics from the Nikon to come later (am away for a week) if anyone's interested. The Lotus crash came straight towards us, and - fences or not - I think we all flinched.
I can well believe it was a boring race on the TV, but for a first Grand prix in person, I had a rather special and memorable day.

I've been to a few races around the world but as a spectator Monaco is just fantastic.

I don't think Vettel and Webber followed team instructions.
... or, "How to lose a Championship"

Now that was a race! Lots of action throughout the field and great stories abound. Way to go Hamilton!

Check out the conspiracy theories following Red Bull.

So, Brits 1st and 2nd in Turkey, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Indy 500. I wonder if that gets mentioned on the telly? So well done Hammy, Belly, Franchitti, Wheldon and Lloyd.

Watched the replay of Turkey.
Great race.
However I think Team Red Bull doth drink too much of their owners product.
Too many cans of that stuff makes you do silly things...

I think both Vettel Vs Webber and Jensen Vs Hamilton went through similar things. Their teams told them to turn down to conserve fuel, and the guys from behind tried to take advantage.
In Button's case he just does not have the right stuff to challenge Lewis. In Webber's case, I think both him and vettel ultimately are just not as calm, cool and collected as the 2 guys behind them.
It was a very good race overall, Hamilton's has had enough near misses. Hopefully he has grown up from all his previous mishaps.

Webber's rear tyres were past their best. He had asked the team to ask Vettel to slow down a little, but they couldn't as the McLarens were too close. Shame then, as we might have seen a proper battle.

We DID see a proper battle though it didn't involve as much racecraft as one would have liked to see. Vettel simply cracked under the pressure.

Awesome race! Went by in a heartbeat. More like this please.

I agree. So all we need is bridgestone to supply tyres that don't last long. Hmmmm, I think I suggested that months ago! I hope pirelli can do something like this next year.

Great race, Canada, can we race there every week?
I see Schumi's back , almost kills some one and gets away with it.
A pat on the back also for Audi, a 1-2-3 at Le Mans 24 hour.
Surly one of the most unexpected results , Peugeot self destructed in the most amazing way.

So Bridgestone reckon this will be a boring race with no real difference in the two tyre grades. Thanks for the warning. PVR is set, something better to do planned!

Thankfully I have the Goodwood fos to look forward to next weekend. Including a Saturday night stopover with three mates! That's nearly all my escape chits for the year used in one go.

Exciting race, though not much at the front. I have now lost all respect for Fernando Alonso for being a big whiny crybaby. Maybe if he focused on his own driving rather than Hamilton's he wouldn't have gotten passed by Kobayashi. Punk. Kudos though to Kobayashi for reminding us why he got a seat in an F1 car. More performances like that please Mr. K.

Nice win for Vettel, keeps the race wide open.

Given the 'reliability' issues that often affect the Red Bulls, I bet Webber was glad a different set of mechanics glued it together...
