HDX local vrs HDX NAS playback ?

Given HDX rips on both - is there any difference between local playback from the internal HD or playback via the NAS ?

Does anyone know if the HDX loads a track into memory to play or is it just constantly reading the data off the drive whilst playing ?

Hi Allen - just wondering. I was just curious on the 2nd point - not for drop out reasons, just for minimal activity within the HDX during playback.

Cheers

By the time I had my HDX one could only rip to the internal hard drives. Connecting the HDX via ethernet cable only made sense when using the desktop client of the HDX on my PC. Although I only played my rips from the internal hard drive the HDX sounded always slightly better when being disconnected from ethernet and I used shielded and non shielded ethernet cable. For getting the best sound quality possible I had to disconnect the HDX from my network. This might indicate that there is a difference when playing from NAS or from internal hard drive...
